Career Profile

I'm a senior researcher and project leader with a strong interdisciplinary profile spanning environmental health, exposomics, microbiome science, and machine learning. I hold a PhD in Chemical informatics and have over 10 years of experience working at the interface of environmental, computational sciences and health. My work at Institute for Anthropological Research and the Lisbon Council focuses on understanding how pollution and lifestyle factors influence human health—using advanced analytical tools, bioinformatics, and large-scale cohort data. Currently, I’m based in Croatia, leading several national and EU-funded research projects including Horizon EDIAQI and Horizon NextAIRE and I specialize in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, developing complex study protocols, and translating scientific findings into real-world applications. I gained extensive experience in analytical chemistry, risk assessment modeling and the application of explainable AI to biomedical data. I’ve co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and serve as a reviewer and evaluator for international scientific journals and funding bodies. In my work, I value clarity, creativity, and collaboration—and I enjoy mentoring younger scientists and fostering a culture of integrity and curiosity in research.
